The Berlin City Bank LogoSecurity Information

The Berlin City Bank is committed to making your Internet Banking experience safe and secure. The following measures have been taken to help ensure your privacy:

Information Encoding

We use the latest encoding technology to ensure that your private information cannot be intercepted. Encryption is a way to rewrite something in code, which can be decoded later with the right "key". When you request information about your account(s), the request is encrypted and sent to The Berlin City Bank. We decode your request and send the requested information back to you in an encrypted format. When you receive the information, it is decoded so that you can read it.

Personally Selected Account Names

The Berlin City Bank does not display your account number(s) over the Internet. Instead, we ask you to choose a "pseudo" name for each of your accounts. For example: "Home Checking," "Johnís Savings," etc.

Individual ID and Personal Identification Number ("PIN")

In order to access The Berlin City Bankís Internet Banking, you must enter a unique User ID and PIN. You may change your User ID and PIN at any time.

PIN "lockout" system

To keep unauthorized individuals from accessing your account by guessing your PIN, we have instituted a PIN lockout system. If your PIN is entered incorrectly three consecutive times, the user is "locked out" of the system and must call Deposit Services at or 1-800-442-6666 to be un-locked.

Automatic Log-Off

If you are logged on to Internet Banking but do not use it for 10 minutes, you will not be able to proceed until you "re-log" onto the system.

Additional Security Measures

In addition to the above safeguards, sophisticated firewalls and an authentication process ensure that only authorized individuals are allowed to enter our system.

Protect Your Information

While The Berlin City Bank works to protect your Internet Banking privacy, you will also play an important role in protecting your account(s). There are a number of steps you can take to ensure that your information is protected:

Donít reveal your User ID or PIN to anyone; your User ID and PIN are designed to protect your banking information, but they will only work if you keep them to yourself;

Change your PIN frequently;

Remain at your computer while you are in an Internet Banking session; when you have finished your Internet Banking, be sure to log off before leaving your computer or visiting other Internet sites;

Do not use your account numbers as your "pseudo" names for your Internet Banking accounts.
